Frequently Asked Questions How do I join? Auditions are held twice annually, once in August and again in January. Auditions are by appointment only. Please call (888) 550-6279 or send an email to contact@diversitysarasota.org to schedule your audition time. Where are rehearsals held? Rehearsals are held most Tuesdays at 7:00 pm at St. Andrew United Church of Christ, 6908 Beneva Road, Sarasota, FL 34238-2607 Does it cost to be a member? The chorus is a not-for-profit organization which relies solely on donations, fundraisers, concert ticket sales and member dues to sustain it financially. Since its inception in 1997, members have been required to demonstrate their commitment and keep the chorus in operation by paying dues to be a member. The current dues are $150.00 for the season or $75.00 for half of the year. Are there any other financial responsibilities for singers? Yes. Each chorus member is responsible for acquiring whatever concert attire is specified for any given performance. We realize many of our singers are on a budget and we strive to find the best looking wardrobe at the most reasonable cost. There is also a refundable music deposit of $15.00 Is there a place for me with Diversity if I can't sing? Yes! Volunteers are always needed to assist with performances, setting up the stage, fundraisers, and on and on. Tell us your talents, and we’ll find a place for you.
